The Lake Records Story Vol 2, continues the music of the successful early 60's production/publishing company and contains the cover versions of four of its hits: the #1 "Funny" by Maxine Brown modeled after the writer Sammy Taylor's version heard here; "Only Yesterday" by Raelette Mary Ann Fisher (a featured character/singer in the Ray Charles film "Ray"; "Singing Waters" the Luther Dixon/Alan Lorber song by the Cashmeres and doo wop great True Tones: and the Cashmere's hit "Satisfied Part 1", whose complete works are in Lake Records Story Vol 1.

The same production team also created "The Connection" recording by be-bop jazz greats Freddie Redd & Howard McGhee.
