This is the 3rd album in the The Lake Records Story series, the successful indie label of early 60’s production team Alan Lorber and Ernest Kelley. Featured in Vol. 1 were the complete recordings of the hit doo-wop group, The Cashmeres (“Satisfied” & “Four Lonely Nights”). Volume 2 features #1 Maxine Brown hit “Funny”, its many covers, and covers of the label’s “Only Yesterday”, “Singing Waters” and “Satisfied”. This Volume 3 features the ‘Best Of” the recordings the team produced for the Felsted/London Records Group and the Amy/Mala labels, including selections from the legendary recording of Freddie Redd’s jazz score for the hit play & film “The Connection” featuring Freddie Redd/Howard McGhee Quintet, and recordings by George Benson & The Altairs, the Lavenders, Truetones and Cashelles.
