This reissued early 80’s orchestral/choral epic of the ills of the earth, the state of the world that man has made,is as fresh today and timely as ever. What do we see? “All of the fighting, all of the grief are man made. The hurt, the sins of the earth, the man found with his face in the ground, robbed of his right to live—all man made.” A recurring dream emerges, a state of rest and tranquility. “Peace” as described in the dictionary, seen but not real. With a thunderous joyful chorus, orchestra, cathedral organ ringing-out are joined with hopeful children singing of the dream. Suddenly, we’re awakened and reminded of the pain, awakened to a chorus and plea, “Don’t wanna go now!” Despite this, we can have fun, can love someone, life is worth living, dreaming about, even with the fighting and the grief. The cover art suggests a safe otherworldly scene from a satellite point-of-view. The question remains, shall we keep our distance, or come back down to earth?
